Memorial Resolution
The Department of Geological Sciences mourns the passing of colleague Dr. Norman Gary Lane, Professor Emeritus, on Saturday January 14, 2006. Professor Lane was a kind soul who could see only the good in individuals of all walks of life. His academic accomplishments are many including receipt of the Paleontological Society Medal and advising a generation of paleontologists who now make up the top echelon of the profession. He motivated and inspired all who came in contact with him with a curiosity for not only geology but also for all natural sciences, and in service to mankind.
The Department sympathizes with and sends condolences to Dr. Lane's bereaved family and to all friends and admirers who suffer the same bereavement.
